This October I was lucky enough to fly back home for my sister-in-laws wedding. My trip was scheduled for two weeks which was the perfect amount of time to fit in a little get away to Northern California. My brother lives in the area so we turned it into a little family visit as well. It is such a beautiful part of the country you must make it a part of your travel bucket list. First stop, The Redwoods... No trip to northern California would be complete if you didn't get to see and be humbled by the grandness of these giants.

A helpful tip while you are making your way around the wine country. Make it a point to stop in Downtown Healdsburg, it has the cutest little plaza with great restaurants!

A great little find was the Hawley tasting room in Healdsburg. What could be better than sipping on new wines and viewing some great local art? My favorite wine was a new one for me, the Viognier!

We major lucked out with our tour to Benziger Winery. We came at the perfect time during a crush. We not only learned about their eco-responsible practices but we got to taste the grapes!! Yumm!

Hands down, my favorite winery was Chateau St. Jean. The ambiance is as fabulous as their wine. I suggest packing a little spread, buy a bottle of their Chardonnay, find a little spot and enjoy a picnic on their beautiful grounds.
